Hingham, MA – A threat was phoned in today directed at Hingham High School. Several Officers were already nearby searched the school and surrounding area and found no threat. The phone call is similar to threats made to numerous Massachusetts schools in the last 2 days.
On Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 11:30am a person called the South Shore Regional Emergency Communications Center (which serves Hingham) and threatened to shoot people in the high school. Several Officers, who were already positioned nearby due to the area threats, immediately searched in the school and surrounding area. They determined the threat was unfounded and a hoax. Officers will maintain an extra visible presence today to help reassure the students and staff. The incident remains under investigation. ### Contact P.I.O. Lt. Steven Dearth
