You may not hear about them, but there are plenty of honest
people all around us. Here’s proof. At noon on April 20, 2018 two women driving in separate
cars traveling north on Route 228 saw a wallet, cash and papers fall out of a van
ahead of them. The women, who didn’t know each other, stopped to pick everything
up. Together, they brought the items ($1,596 in cash, an
$850 check, bank/credit cards, receipts but no license) they collected to the nearby
South Hingham Fire Station to get it to the police. An Officer was unable to find an address for the owner but he went to Bank of America and bank employees were able to reach their customer by phone. He returned to pick up everything. Kudos to these two strangers, one a Hingham mother and one a realtor working in Hingham.
