[ARCHIVED] Businesses Receive Emailed Bomb Threats

Two businesses reported that they received bomb threats by email today. The threats were later determined not to be credible.

On December 13, 2018 at 1:10pm a law firm at 1 Derby Street reported an email bomb threat. At 1:27pm a private investigation firm at 33 Central Street reported receiving a similar email. Both businesses were evacuated and were cleared of any threat. The businesses reopened afterwards.

The emails requested payment in the form of bitcoin or warned a bomb would be detonated. The emails did not name the specific business. The threats remain under investigation. Contact: P.I.O. Sgt. Steven Dearth
