The Patrol Division is the largest division of the Police Department. Patrol Officers provide initial response to all requests for police services, respond to emergencies, protect people and property, maintain order, and enforce motor vehicle and criminal law. Uniformed Patrol Officers are assigned to 3 shifts (12:00 AM - 8:00 AM, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, and 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM) and can be seen on foot, bicycle or marked cruiser. At the start of each shift, Patrol Officers are assigned to sectors by a Sergeant, ensuring each and every area of town is covered 24-7-365.
